Any way to reload/update or retrieve content in a div element?

Looking for a simple jscript solution to use with onclick. Been looking all over but the only solutions I can manage just show how to switch content in the div.

Are you asking how to fetch the content to switch into the div?

Doesn't sound like what I'm after.

I'd just like something that will dynamically append (or refresh the div if possible).

"refresh" is just jargon for "replace the page I'm looking at with a possibly updated version of the same page."

Iframes are an easy way to do it, but if you want to do it with javascript, you need to do the whole ajax thing. A web seach will turn up dozens of ajax tutorials.

Thanks guys, I actually ended up going the ajax route before checking the replies. Using ajax wasn't as much of a headache I imagined it would be (sde mentioned it in a reply to one my posts months ago methinks, but I'm pretty bashful when it comes to learning something new while already learning something new so didn't bother looking into it while taking up php). Using php over this past year has made javascript look much less alien to me (that, or I'm just more comfortable doing this now).

I still may have use for passing form data to a frame, but I haven't been much of a fan of frame usage. I spent about 3 weeks on it a month or so ago and I wasn't completely satisfied with it after the fact.
