Ashing is on a distinguished road
Images with sound

Ok i'm fairly new to this and i need some help i need to make it so when you scroll over a picture it plays a certain sound or when you click it, it plays but without opening a new window or some media player on your computer.
Any help is aprecciated

you need some javascript to handle the onMouseOver event for the sound. The click to play can be solved with an embedded quicktime media.

Or if you're in for a more pointy clicky building experiece you can get the 30 day trial edition of flash at macromedia's website.

i agree, flash is the best way to incorporate multimedia into your site. it keeps the file sizes pretty good for web too.

your best bet is to google: flash tutorial button sound

or something like that. we don't really have flash examples here.

yeah well i was trying to do this on a myspace profile, so i dunno if flash would work

Well javascript definitley won't work then. So have a go at the flash tutorials. The syntax for embedded media files is up at w3c.org in the html 4.0 spec, if flash doesn't work out.
