Excel, and fun!

Is there any possible way to link from a website to a certain cell in an Excel file?

I'm working on an inventory for the company I work at, and I need to find a way to sort everything out into a spreadsheet and link to it, rather than making individual files for everything, or making one giant list and linking to different sections...

I know I could do this with a database of some sort, but I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible.

You could parse a flat file (csv) and then figure out what you need that way, but it would be easier to import it into a database and then do whatever you want with it.

The main point is that I don't want to have to use a database... I just want to hotlink to a point on a spreadsheet that is also hosted on the server :\

I've heard that it's possible, but I can't find anything about it.
