Assembly forum?

How about an Assembly forum? Might be rarely used and or visited, but it may be fun to get back to some old assembly coding or at the very least talking about it. There is already one such thread, with at least some demonstrated ability!

I'm not real sure how interested people are in learning it nowadays, but it just may be fun...

Or not. You decide!

well scott, .. our new philosophy of the forum categories is that we will add categories requested if there are regulars from within the community who could actually answer some questions or help out. it has been brought up before so here ya go ... :::: shabang:::

If you're of the inclination to implement an Assembly forum, I'll field questions. I don't know much about the Motorola instruction set, but I've been writing X86 for a lot of years.

Awsome Hamlin, thanks for stepping up. I think we had one a while back, but it just did not get much activity.

The site is a little more busy now, so maybe it will get some action. In the past, if forums have gone un-posted in for a month or 2, we have deleted them. We do have lot more traffic than we used to though, so let's see how this goes.

Please go to the Assembly forum, click 'forum tools' and subscribe

Nice to have you here. Thanks.

You betcha. Historically, I've not really ever been able to drum up much interest amongst my peers in ASM; most of them feel it's antiquated and prohibitively complex. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I searched through assembly threads and moved them to the forum so we at least have a few in there. Assembly forum, take 2!

I kinda liked assembly (and Java bytecode) in college, but I just never really have a need to use it nowadays. Maybe one of these days I'll come across a project that needs it.
