=) me too! .. i was not sure how to handle the mix of VB, C#, or whatever else, .. but i suppose if it is a very language specific tutorial, then it can go inside one of those languages .. if the concept of the example is more 'web related' than specifically on the syntax, then it can go in asp.net.

i just don't want to make too many categories.

I guess we could distinguish it in the title

Like:

Creating a dataset (VB)

Creating a text File (C#)

Something like that

.NET has started to blur the lines in programming...
You can have some one write the base classs in VB , but you can take that class in it's IL form and write a class derived from the Vb source in C#, What matters in the IL. You no longer have to have all your crew writeing in one language to achive the desired results.
This is what drew me towards .Net,up untill I took a real close look at .Net , I was a Java person.. But .Net seemed so much better organized and logical than Java...Granted they had time to stand back and watch Sun make alll the mistakes..but with the Mono projrct and others I see .Net getting out beyond what M$ expected.. and balso beyound they wildest dreams ... What would happen if MS office were avalable for a Linux user?
If Microsoft goes full .Net (Which it looks like they are) A .Net version of Office is in the making for Apple OSX, so it does no take a whole lot of work to go from a BSD base to a Linux Base.......... .Net on Apple is a wide open gate for Linux/Mono

great idea ryan.

hey desert .. how ya been?

i'm also pretty excited on the .net development. i've taken to c# pretty well, and i've installed mono on my debian server. it's just strange compiling something in visual studio and running the executable on linux! but definately welcome.

it will be interesting to see where this all goes. in the mean time, i don't think it's a bad investment in time to study .net extensively.

hmm...

When I posted my .NET tutorial is updated immediately and didn't seem to go into the queue for admin review.

Also, did my ASP tutorial about strings functions disappear to computerland?

Mike do you think you could put the images in my VB.NET tutorial on the codenewbie server? I don't really have any place to host them. Right now they are being hosted on the server where I used to work and they will probabaly change things later down the road and the images won't display.
