Stuff to do on this board

you asked for it so here it goes....

1) Please remove flood control measure which does not let users post more than once every 30 seconds. This is the longest I have seen the rule appliead. most board have it between 2 to 5 seconds.

2) Please enable the topics to stay in the boards. I see lot's of posts and threads have been made but then I go into that section and there is only 2 subjects. This also sucks because I tried to search the forum for some code and couldn't find it because of that. (This also prevents you from accumulating content which as previously mentioned is important).

3) This one is not critical but would be nice to see. If possible would it be possible to enable flash. If you do I could contribute ehavily to the forum by proposing to launch a game section were I myself from my server would serve flash games for all users to play free. Offered exclusivly to you and the people that are here. This is done so that we can perhaps leave a small link back to our site for more game or other stuff.

4) This one is more aof a praise than anything. I found you guy's and looked around. I joinned because of the mature, open fashion that this forum is ran and participated in. My request on this one is that you not change that spect of it. This is key to haing a great forum. I like it and think that I will be more and more involved here so that I can get to know this new great bunch of people.

I almost forgot. I don't see the logo at the top, the forum button or the home button. I also strongly suggest that you put the banner that is beside the button bar un the buttons or over it but NOT besdide it. It make the pages 1/3 wider.

This is to ensure theres going to be a well thought reply, not just one of those True that, and in the end the poster screaming all over the board I own j00 all.
The level of inteligence this will reflect on the board will eventualy scare of any frightend newbies who might wanted to contribute if given correct and skillful help to begin with.

It's probably due to the view last posts in 30 days selection you can set, if you want to see all, just change that to view all and refresh the page, then you'll see any thread thats been made since the board was initiated.
(you can set this in the select menus at the bottom of the page in each forum)

3) If possible would it be possible to enable flash....

It sounds good with a gaming section, how ever the forums will not have this feature enabled, due to the fact that for security reason any html posting is disabled in the forums. If I remember correct sde made a game that's lying around here somewhere.. It could be a solution to develop that section so there would be several games to chose from.

4) My request on this one is that you not change that spect of it....

This last thing will have to go on mikes shoulders, I remember mentioning it for him at one point.. I can't remember what the solution was, but as long as we're working on the new design of the forum, this is something that will be looked into when we get around to it.

i can move the banner .. the new design is almost done though .. sit tite .. i hope to launch within a week or 2.

i don't understand where you are seeing the broken links though. what page do the links appear to be broken? please provide a link besides to the images themselves.

The broken links are on the all the templaets (basicaly every page I see). the main page, the page were you post, the thread pages and all other functional pages such as search etc....


Thank you fro the tip on the boards subjects, this is awesome and I will look forward to reading and soaking up all of your knowledge.

I also didn't know that the site was under construction so sorry if I impeded, didn't mean to do that.

As for Flash, I understand the security measures BUT!, what if only moderators could have permission to install flash applet's. This is a major concern for me because I have a following that I could bring here (about 10 other members) that would love to see my old stuff on the new board. Just an idea, I don't mean to be pushy but please do not dismiss it. Please at least take it into consideration.

i adjusted the default thread view to 60 days for most forums.

i explained another reason for non-flash integration in the lounge poll thread.

i made a flash logo once, and we had several complaints from users. we like for everyone to view our site with ease.

the problem is that a lot of users are linux users. linux users may be testing different systems, different browsers. most of those browsers don't have flash installed by default, and at the same time, sometimes it is difficult to install the plugin. ( for some )

i do use flash myself, .. and i like working with actionscript ( not advanced yet ), so a flash area would be nice.

maybe we could develop a way to share flash apps in a seperate area of the site. perhaps a place where a logged in member can upload to a specific category ( games, buttons, effects ), and post comments about it.

then the flash files could be browsed a little like the tutorial viewer. .. by category or author.

i don't think i want flash aps in the forum though. if you have any ideas about this, please discuss.

The only reason I wanted the flash on the board is so we can compare points and who won etc....

If we can comment on the games I suppose that it would still be cool to have the games somewere on your site were again logged in users can access area and have fun.
