all tables in one db, or multiple dbs

is it more of a common practice to store only 1 table in a db, or just store all tables in just one db?

Anything you need to cross reference between tables should be in the same database. If your tables are not related, it doesn't matter if they are in the same database or not. In general unless there are security needs there's no disadvantage to putting everything in one database.
