Discreet, who is involved in making graphical software and storage solutions, has detected a
critical error in one of their keyproducts, which will effect a long row of their other products.
It is their filesystem

The error was found at Sonne, when their Flame, whos date is predated 3 days, went down yesterday. Discreet is working on it, and hope to have a solution ready later today.

Topic: ACTION REQUIRED - Date Rollover Notice
Scope: All Discreet Advanced Systems Products
This communication is to inform you that Discreet Advanced Systems
support and engineering have found and executed repairs for a defect
in our stone file system software that will impact all customers who
use any version of the following products:
inferno, flame, flint (Irix and Linux), fire, smoke (Irix and Linux),
effect (Irix Only), backdraft and frost.
As burn is dependent on the host application’s use of the stone file
system it too is impacted by this problem.
The defect will also affect any third party applications that use the
API: LibCMAPI, LibIO and Wiretap
If the user does not take corrective measures prior to the system’s
time and date reaching October 2nd, 2004, 21:24:16 (please refer to
the end of this notice for instructions on how to check your system
time as display time may differ from system time ) the result will be
that any system that is dependent on the stone file system will not
run until the corrective measures outlined in this note have been
executed.
