If I convert is everything okay

While running visual Studio.net I tried to open a previous sample application that was created from Visual basic.net and was asked to convert ??? I thought that Visual Studio.net was the same as visual basic.net but with more bells and whistles ?? Is it the same or is it not ?

Thanks

Visual Studio is the IDE, while Visual Basic.NET is the programming language.

I don't believe that the language itself would be different, but the sample program may have been written in an older version of Visual Studio.
