 Anybody use Firebird? Looking for help
Hello,
We are a small company that just opened it's doors. We hired a programmer to write a database that will help us place orders, keep track of parts and provide some automatic functions. Example of automatic functions is, when we are proposing a price for various parts, when we hit enter a document will appear on our screen that will have our letterhead and the pertinant information (who pays shipping, Insurance, customer name and address, etc.)that we told the programmer to include ready for an email, or to FAX or to print.
I understand that stored procedures can provide this, but will Firebird do this for us?
Other problem I am having is connecting to a database that is on a different computer. I have run the diagnostics and it appears to pass, but to actually connect, it fails.
One more thing. What GUI do you recommend and why?
