cgi-bin hell

Hey all.
I'm pullin' my hair out trying to get the cgi script to work on my site. I've tried everything, even downloaded a program called "Visual Form Mail" and that didn't work. Finally I used a form to mail php thing and that worked... what the heck?
Here's the page:

It's so simple, I guess I just don't get it.

I've moved the thread, since a cgi/php question isn't fitting in the lounge section.
On the other hand, a link to a page where the only thing you can see is the html code, isn't exactly the debugging friendly version, so untill you provide us with some error messages or some code fragments, we cannot help that much at this point.

make sure the path to your perl directory is accurate. i.e., the first line of code: #!/bin/perl

perl may be in a different directory on your web server. if you have other cgi scripts already installed, you may want to look at their path.

i think the file also needs to be executable. if you don't have shell access, then open your ftp editor and look at the permissions to the file. make sure the user/group/all are executable.
