I have to go with Bruin..stay away from Deitel&Deitel.. I had one of their books for an advanced Java programming class and it was a complete waste of money...we dropped it about 2 weeks into the course....
Go with anything from O'Reilly... Jessy Liberty is pretty good when he stays on track......
