it would completely depend on the resolution vs the size of your monitor, so i don't think the conversion could be simply calculated by a measurement such as cm or meters ( in real life ) to pixels.
i bet you could find some pretty cool accelleration/deceleration flash tutorials or actionscript somewhere. that should point you to the right direction for the logic.
