Sure, they would both do the job. I prefer PHP because it's more accessible and the open source community does a good job of providing upgrades, patches, and bug fixes. More so than with ASP, I think.

But IMO the fact that you are more familiar with programming in PHP should be reason enough to use it.

After all, the PHP-Windows binary is, of course, a free download, and I can't imagine that installing it along side ASP would make any noticable degredation in the server performance, so where's the downside?
