The major differences in these is that 7.2 only has KDE 2.2, 7.3 KDE3, but only GCC 2.96, and 8.0 has KDE3. GCC 3.2, GTK+ 2, and an array of much better apps than the previous 2. 7.2 and 7.3 pretty much have the same apps, but weaker kernels. IMO 8.0's kernels are quite rock solid.
