That's wierd. My AMD is running at 2GHz and it's not on fire. A matter of fact it's at 37 degrees.
But seriously. I prefer AMD over Intel. The overclocking ability is quite amazing really. Not in the AthlonXP 2800+ though. That one got b0rked. I'm sure the 3000+ would be one killer OC CPU. It's quite the CPU. Completely new design. Barton core. .13 micron process, quanta-speed arch (of course) 333MHz FSB.
I have to look up some benchmarks to see the real performance increase. Doesn't look like they did anything much different from the 2600+'s and the 2800+'s except for the Barton core. It's almost good that AMD brought back the PR Rating since this CPU went down in MHz from the previous non-barton CPU @ 2.167GHz.
