actually with both sites in the first post all of the text is rendered at least 4pt higher maybe more. For example the text in the <p> sections on both pages has been designated by the css to be 10pt but looks to be at least 14 in ie and the topic boxes on the second site varies in size depending on whichbrowser you use and regardless of if I specify a differnt font size.

personally i would assume (because of the wide variance in rendering) this is just a result of the complete lack of browser standards. The absolute best browser for displaying the sites as they are coded is the most recent version of mozilla
(actually i am not that worried about the font display as much as i was the image transparency problem)
