3.) read number 2.) . Slackware is the only distro that uses BSD style scripts so for Red Hat or Mandrake or a non-slackware box it would be /etc/init.d because /etc/rc.d (lower d) is a BSD script thing

4.) /etc/rc.d/rc.local
