the 'techs' , .. as i use that term loosely, .. did take the ram out after it did not work. we are in the process of sending more ram.

i removed every single mysql/php package. when i re-installed them, i would have got an error saying that the package was already installed.

also, i tried to start mysqld after i un-installed, and it definately wasn't there. i ran a ps aux to make sure nothing was left running.

i'm baffled, .. but i'm in sandiego now, so nothing matters till i come back tomarrow =)
