XP SP2 stopping intranet cookies?

System is a laptop with XAMPP-based apache server mostly used as a testbed for oscommerce development. I've had a problem there with being unable to log in to shop accounts but have bypassed it by stopping the cart from forcing cookie use. I also had dotproject installed but not used it for ages. I've come back to it today and it's also saying 'you must have cookies enabled in your browser.' The thing is that they are enabled, they work fine on internet sites. And the only thing I can think is that it's since I upgraded to SP2 that it's been this way. I've had a google and can't find any specific mention of this problem, gonna go bug the people at xampp next Any ideas what I can do about it?

Thanks
