The code I gave you is confusing because it was created automatically by Dreamweaver.
Tbh I would enclose the text with <A href='#'> so ppl know to click on em. The images are too big to be used in mouseovers, and there are too many of them to have them preloaded for mouseovers.
As for the layer/fixed position thing I've tried and failed miserably. I have little css expertise. I'm a programmer, not an artist :p
btw, external stylesheets or even stylesheets at the top of the page make things a million times easier.
