Upon
hearing of Google's
new look, I decided to head over and look at some of the various other sub-sites of Google. Here are some of the more interesting sites you might not have known about if all you do is use the basic search engine . . .
Google Personalized Search: Make yourself a profile based on your interests, and then search Google as you normally would. The results will then be sorted to take into account your profile.
Google Sets: Enter in several related items, and Google will attempt to return to you a list of related words which you can then search on. For instance, if you enter in Toyota, Ford, BMW, it will return a list of car manufacturers.
Google Answers: This is about the coolest thing I saw. You post a question, and how much you are willing to pay for a personalized answer. A set of Google approved researchers will review the questions, and if they can provide an answer and the amount of money offered makes it worth their time, they'll post a response. All previously asked questions are available for viewing.
Froogle: Google's foray into price-finding, much like mySimon or PriceGrabber.
There are other interesting subsites of Google, but you might know about them already, plus I want to encourage you to explore a bit.
